What is diversity and inclusion in the workplace?

What is diversity and inclusion in the workplace?
What type of workplace attracts top talent? What type of workplace has a culture that thrives because all workers feel empowered and that they belong? We believe workplaces that are committed to diversity and inclusion have an advantage in attracting top talent, and creating workers who enjoy being at work.

Diversity is about recognizing differences between groups or people. It is about respecting and empowering what makes groups or people different for the ultimate goal of bettering the culture and performance of an organization.

Each individual brings a unique or diverse set of experiences and perspectives to a group or culture which adds value to any working team or organization.

Inclusion in the workplace means that diversity can be beneficial to an organization regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, education, and national origin. Inclusion is about making all people in the workplace feel welcomed, empowered, and that they can contribute to the betterment of the organization.

Together, diversity and inclusion in the workplace can strengthen a workplace culture by empowering workers, retaining workers, and attracting top talent. As a result, organizations committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace have an advantage amongst competitors.
