General Description
The Adult Education Career Coach will work primarily on the Searcy campus but will travel to other program locations to provide career development opportunities to our students. He/she will assist students with transition services such as exploring careers, goal setting, job search skills, resume preparation, completing a job application, and interview skills. The career coach will also be responsible for guiding Adult Ed students to complete the WAGE Level One Certificate. Other responsibilities include helping Adult Ed staff with recruitment, intake, orientation, and building connections with industry partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coach/counsel students to identify and address barriers to success.
2. Connect eligible students with Career Pathways Initiative (CPI) to help them benefit from CPI's support services.
3. Refer students to the appropriate outside agencies for supportive services.
4. Provide information and guide students to complete the WAGE Level One certificate
5. Deliver interest inventories and skills assessments to assist individuals in making informed career decisions; assist students with job searches and applications.
6. Provide information on careers, career pathways, and educational requirements; assist students with enrolling in post-secondary education or training programs.
7. Coordinate and conduct weekly lessons/trainings on job readiness such as interview skills, resume preparation, application completion, dress for success, and other soft skills, either in the classroom or one-on-one.
8. Visit other program locations once or twice per week.
9. Maintain accurate data and student records, including tracking students for outcomes and credential attainment.
10. Maintain program and community resource directory.
11. Coordinate opportunities for community partners and employers to engage with adult education classes.
12. Plan and host events and activities to promote and recruit participants into the Adult Education program; distribute promotional materials to partners to assist in outreach and recruitment.
13. Attend professional development activities to remain current in career development field and as required by the Adult Ed program.
14. Cross-train in order to assist in other areas of Adult Education as needed or as assigned by the director, such as registration and assessments.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience upon hire. Must earn the Career Services Provider certificate within one year of hire.Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience upon hire. Must earn the Career Services Provider certificate within one year of hire.
