Volt is immediately hiring for an Airplane Mechanic in Indianapolis, IN.
As an Airplane Mechanic, you will perform assembly, disassembly, and repairs required in completion of airframe overhaul, repair, modification, and upgrades. Including but not limited to removal, replacement, and repair of parts of engines, airframes, and aircraft structures and systems. In addition, you will:
- Perform airframe, powerplant, and propeller repairs and modifications to meet company and FAA requirements
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems
- Conduct airframe system, component changes, and systems checkouts
- Interpret technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and blueprints
- Perform other required activities, as assigned
- Perform as a leader and trainer of a functional and/or cross-functional team.
This is a
full-time, contingent opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Airframe and Powerplant license
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with diversified jet, turboprop, piston, modification, aircraft/flight maintenance or airframe sheet metal maintenance
- Experience in MRO's
- Ability to operate all pneumatic, power, hand tools and equipment necessary to accomplish work assignment
- Ability to use arithmetic, and read blueprints and specifications
- Knowledge of jet, piston, airframe and engine principles
- Structural experience (i.e. installing/removing Rivets, Hi-Lok's, etc.)
- Background in structural/sheet metal repair and/or assembly
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Maximum weight to be handled will be aligned with Environmental Safety and Health governing documentation. May occasionally perform duties in a standing, kneeling or squatting position. Good eyesight and ability to distinguish color is necessary.
Pay Rate: $30.00 - $39.14 per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
