Description of Work:

The School of Accountancy in the College of Business at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking applicants for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice position starting January 2025. Professors of Practice are teaching specialists who are hired on multi-year contracts, renewable subject to performance. This will be an academic year (nine-month) appointment with a competitive salary. Teaching subjects will include auditing and research and communication in accounting.

As a member of the faculty, Professors of Practice participate (as appropriate in the governance of the School and College of Business) in academic policy makin, and in a variety of non-class activities such as advising students and student organizations. The successful candidate will be expected to be significantly involved in the School and College's teaching mission and teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, depending on credentials. Teaching responsibilities typically will be 12 hours (four courses) per semester and may include both undergraduate and master's courses.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate accounting degree and a CPA license.
OR
  • Master's degree in accounting and an accounting-related professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFE, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in audit.
