Summary

The Assistant Quality Assurance Officer provides services to personnel through field consultations, inspections, data/document review and training in accordance with the Quality Assurance Program. The employee is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the Quality Program at Tulane National Primate Research Center (TNPRC) Regional Biocontainment Laboratory.
This position works collaboratively and directly with high containment laboratories to implement quality standards and a quality system of management controls to ensure the uniformity, consistency, reliability, reproducibility, quality, and integrity of experimental data. He/she must exercise a high level of initiative, positive interaction, and follow-through in all aspects of program implementation and assignments.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in life/health sciences, public health, or other related discipline* Three years of experience working in a biomedical research environment or with quality processes and tools.* Ability to pass a U.S. Department of Justice Security Risk Assessment for access to select biological agents and toxins.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a biological laboratory following GLP or similar quality standards.* Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) or similar qualification.
