About the Position

Pond is looking for an Associate Vice President to lead our expanding team of energy professionals, focusing on substation and transmission engineering. The ideal candidate possesses 15+ years of related experience and wants to grow, collaborate, and innovate. In this position, the successful candidate will support the Power Services program for clients across the United States. Projects will span across multiple markets and geographies affording opportunities for broadening knowledge and deepening skill sets related to design projects. We are seeking someone who can be an independent self-starter.

Job Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of major substation equipment, the functions of that equipment, and ability to select and specify substation equipment
• Drives growth and improvement for electrical engineering team including technical training, innovations, work tools, and software requirements.
• Leading design for electric transmission and substation projects including Substation layout and electrical design for voltages ranging from LV up to EHV transmission level voltages, routing and siting for transmission system design.
• Support project scoping, engineering cost estimating, and proposals for related services.
• Lead design team efforts with drawings required to construct electrical transmission lines and substations
• Knowledge of electrical calculations required to design an electrical substation and transmission systems
• Communicates and coordinates tasks directly with internal project managers and/or disciplines to identify and coordinate details of work for successful project execution.
• Coordinates a variety of engineering deliverables such as contract documents, project documents, and studies.
• Support adherence to industry, client, and internal standards and/or best practices
• Mentor less experienced engineers and designers
• Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Develops engineering cost estimates for proposals.
• Preparation of equipment specifications, bid evaluations and procurement recommendations.
• Effectively work on multiple projects at a time
• Travel to client offices and job sites as well as industry conferences

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering, Electrical or equivalent, Master's Degree encouraged,
• Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred.
• 15+ Years of experience in related transmission and substation design services.
• Experience overseeing technical resources regarding design aspects of related projects and providing guidance and mentorship.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards and design software

Additional Information

Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Associate Vice President with a salary range of $137,500.00 - $225,900.00 .
