Our client is seeking an AV Technician in Richmond, VA.

Role Description

The Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia is seeking applicants for the position of Audio-Visual Technician with the Department of Judicial Information Technology. This department offers IT/AV support to the Supreme Court of Virginia, Virginia Court of Appeals, the Magistrates, and Circuit, General District and Juvenile & Domestic Relation Courts in Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as the Office of the Executive Secretary.
This position is responsible for supporting the livestreaming and A/V production of court proceedings, special judicial ceremonies, judicial conferences, live and pre-recorded training sessions, as well as other events.
• Working with digital audio mixers, powered speakers, and wireless microphones.
• Setting up audio boards, snakes, stage boxes, and antennas.
• Routing audio feeds to appropriate faders, buses/mixes, and sends.
• Meeting with event coordinators to discuss audio, lighting, and video requirements.
• Altering venue arrangements according to event requirements.
• Editing recordings to event organizers' expectations.
• Conducting audio, video, and performance quality checks on AV equipment.
• Operating audio and video equipment during live events.
• Troubleshooting equipment.
• Striking audio and video equipment and packing up after events.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills along with ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Some after hours and statewide travel is required.

Skills & Requirements

• 3-5 years of professional working experience with audio visual equipment.
• Experienced in operating digital audio mixers and wireless microphones.
• Experience with digital audio networking.
• 3-5 years of live production experience (i.e., conferences, conventions, and live speech events).
• 1-3 years in post-production editing.
• Working knowledge of video conferencing systems and platforms in a live production environment.
• Working knowledge of PC's & basic understanding of network topology.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Bachelor's or associate degree, preferably in a Communications field, Information Technology, or Live Production.
• Experience in sound system design, Dual Channel FFT measurement, and Sound System Tuning is a plus.
• Experience with Behringer X32, and Allen & Heath SQ consoles are a plus.
• Experience with Shure wireless microphones and Wireless Workbench is a plus.
• Experience with QSC Q-Sys is a plus.
• Dante Certifications.
• Basic audio editing skills in REAPER, Audacity, or similar digital audio workstation (DAW).
• Basic video editing skills with Black Magic DaVinci Resolve or similar NLE Working with live video switchers and encoders.
• VMIX and Streaming CDN experience is a plus.
• Experience creating custom graphics to be used for Conferences and Live streaming.
• Experience in custom layouts and designs to be used within encoding software.
• Experience setting up cameras, tripods, lighting equipment.
• Experience terminating various types of cable including Cat5, XLR, and SDi.
• Experience setting color and white balance on a variety of cameras.
