Billing Compliance Coordinator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

* Review and develop procedures for adherence to Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs), including creating tip sheets for Billing Coordinators and Billing Partners.
* Provide training on OCGs to timekeepers and staff to ensure compliance.
* Align system data with team members and cross-functional teams to provide timely, accurate, and effective customer service, including coverage beyond normal business hours.
* Ensure the Billing team proactively addresses client rates, e-billing requirements, and compliance with OCGs.
* Communicate with Billing Partners and external clients to resolve billing compliance inquiries and issues.
* Collaborate with the E-Billing team to identify and address system setup or compliance issues, and communicate non-compliance to billing leadership.
* Manage Task and Activity requests, including the setup of new sets and assigning sets to existing Client/Matters.
Maintain updated client billing instructions/process notes and develop solutions to reduce internal work cycles and eliminate process inefficiencies.

Education:
* The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field. Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum of five years of experience in process development and compliance, preferably in a professional services organization.
* Strong ability in process assessment and improvement, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft
* Excel and other Microsoft suite applications.
* Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, with attorneys, staff, vendors, and clients, and the ability to analyze and effectively communicate complex issues.
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment, with a strong understanding of client service standards and expectations within a law firm or professional services environment.
