The CNC Manufacturing Manager strives for optimal manufacturing performance as it relates to operational performance targets for the C/A Design organization. Volume, quality and on time delivery goals are met by utilizing efficient process engineering methods while simultaneously overseeing and leading the high precision machining team (CNC). This leader will be expected to embrace and exhibit our culture of honesty, integrity, and good corporate citizenship. This is key role within our operations leadership group that reports directly to the Plant Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the daily production & special process operations of the company and all its components.
  • Implement, optimize, and successfully manage production efficiencies.
  • Using Lean principles as the basis, ensure that quality, cost, efficiency, capacity goals are achieved or exceeded.
  • Support the Plant Manager in the preparation of monthly KPI metrics and present this and other data as requested to Senior management.
  • Participate in and contribute to plant focused strategic initiatives and other key business initiatives (ex: plant relocation).
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and recommend corrective actions to meet company and departmental objectives.
  • Develop and utilize capacity plans to accurately understand resource planning and headcount requirements.
  • Actively participate in customer focused meetings, plant tours and act as point of contact for escalated production/product issues.
  • Liaise with Quality Manager and Technology Director to troubleshoot production problems and take preventive or corrective action, engaging the employees as appropriate.
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruitment strategies to ensure key production and support roles are filled with technically capable applicants.
  • Develop and mentor direct/indirect and supervisory level reports to ensure high performance, competence, and behavior consistent with the company's values and culture.
  • Adhere to the facility's quality, environmental, health and safety policies that are identified by our Management Systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of progressive and varied engineering and manufacturing leadership experience in complex manufacturing organizations, preferably within a recognized world class operating environment.
  • High precision machining knowledge and experience with brazing technologies.
  • Proven leadership ability to carry out difficult decisions in a logical, rational manner, and demonstrated ability to work as a senior management team member and to engage and influence team members in a matrixed environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering costs reductions, efficiency gains and eliminating waste using problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies, (LEAN), and other tools.
  • Ability to conduct critical analysis and assessments to develop strategic action plans that ensure efficient, lean, and effective processes are in place to produce quality products.
  • Effective employee management skills including dealing with difficult employee situations and providing constructive feedback.
  • Strong knowledge of product documentation and inventory management systems
  • Exceptional technical skill sets with the ability to contribute to and/or create formal presentations utilizing MS Office while composing accurate data as well as navigating ERP system.
  • Excellent presentation skills and capacity to interact professionally and tactfully with all levels of the organization and customer base.
  • A safety focused mindset and the ability to influence a work safe culture.
  • Familiar with Quality Management Systems, i.e.: ISO 9000, ISO, AS9100.
