The
Compensation Consultant provides expert analysis and support related to departmental reorganizations, job reclassifications, and the development of new job descriptions. This role is crucial for making informed pay-related decisions for new hires, promotions, market adjustments, and internal equity adjustments. This is a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:

Compensation Studies: Conduct compensation studies, including internal equity reviews, cost analyses for salary adjustments, ad-hoc surveys, market trend analysis, and development of recommendations based on findings.

Documentation Maintenance: Keep records of all jobs within the assigned area, including job descriptions, organizational charts, and relevant market data.

Reclassification Reviews: Assess reclassification requests and new position requests by gathering job analysis information, reviewing external market data, and internal comparisons to recommend appropriate grades/ranges.

Recommendation Evaluation: Evaluate and provide recommendations on salary adjustments, promotions, and reclassifications to ensure fairness and competitiveness.

Equity and Competitiveness: Ensure recommendations and decisions maintain internal equity and external competitiveness.

Job Descriptions: Assist in drafting and revising job descriptions for new and existing positions.

HR Support: Provide support to other functional areas within human resources as needed.
Key Skills:

Classification and Evaluation Tools: Proven experience with classification and job evaluation tools.

Compensation Theory: Solid understanding of compensation theory, practices, and guiding principles.

Prioritization: Ability to prioritize assignments to handle varying workloads and conflicting deadlines effectively.

Strategic Solutions: Extensive experience in developing strategic solutions for classification, compensation, and interpersonal design issues.

Communication: Strong communication skills to convey findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years of work experience OR
- High School Diploma/GED plus 9-11 years of work experience.

Certifications:
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) is preferred.

Additional Experience:
- Experience working on merit planning and salary structure design.
- General compensation experience (knowledge of market pricing, salary surveys, data gathering in Excel, compensation principles)
- Experience in developing strategic solutions for a range of classification and compensation issues.
- Prior experience with classification theory, practices, and principles.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle workload effectively.
- Experience in commissions and sales compensation is preferred.
- Experience with executive compensation is also preferred.
This role demands a blend of analytical prowess, strategic insight, and strong communication skills to effectively manage compensation-related tasks and ensure alignment with organizational goals and market standards.

- Work is performed in an office/home office environment.
- Team Members must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

Pay Rate$100,000 - $119,000 Salary
Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
