I am partnered with a Commercial Construction Manager and General Contractor that specializes within the Healthcare sector that has provided a range of institutions with full-service construction and Project Management services for over a decade. With annual revenues in excess of $35M, they have grown year over year, continuing to cement their expertise across the healthcare environment, adding value to a range of clients as they go.
With repeat business from institutions such as Northwell, Yale & United Healthcare to name but a few, they are looking for a Construction Estimator to join the business and provide competitive bidding for a variety of project work throughout the tri-state area.
Your new role
As a Construction Estimator, you will join a team of 4 focused on competitively bidding interior fit-out and renovation works in addition to select ground-up builds spanning the tri-state area with project values exceeding $100M. As a construction Estimator you will be expected to manage the following on a daily basis:
- Analyzing and interpreting architectural plans/ construction blueprints.
- Capable of performing detailed quantity take-offs and organizing the quantities with unit pricing in production of a complete cost estimate.
- The ability to build a full conceptual cost estimate from architectural sketches/schematics.
- Experience across lump-sum, Design+Build, and GMP contract types.
- Providing detailed proposals and accurate bid packages.
- Experience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the owner while maintaining a high level of construction quality.
- The ability to negotiate throughout the bidding process.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and aggressive deadlines.
- Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- A team player with a positive attitude who can also work independently, is self-motivated and success-driven, yet able and willing to take direction.
- Attending meetings with staff, architects and clients along with construction site walk-through's and lasing with the Project teams.
What you'll need to succeed In order to be successful as a
Construction Estimator, you will have 5+ years' experience competitively bidding for commercial project work within a GC | CM environment weighted across interior fit-out and renovation project work. You will be comfortable bidding on projects valued to $10M independently and be competent across all trades inclusive of MEP's. Having healthcare, or life science specific project experience is not essential, but advantageous. Along with experience using Pro-core or similar take-off software.
