Purpose

The CRS Employment Senior Case Specialist is responsible for conducting and organizing the Comprehensive Refugee Services Employment Program outreach activities, community presentations and Job fairs in collaboration with the CRS Program Manager. The incumbent is responsible for assisting the CRS Program manager with the day-to-day operations of the CRS Employment Program. The incumbent will provide clients with One-on -One Orientations, pre-employment activities, monitor and track reports and trends, supervise employment data monthly, and ensure quality control.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employment staff, coordinate client services, and manage employment program reports under the guidance of the CRS Program Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring all employment program forms are up to date and in compliance with the funding source and CWS.
  • Train staff, as well as provide technical support during the delivery of services.
  • Conduct community employers' outreach, and community presentations in coordination with the CRS Program Manager.
  • Facilitate individualized job placement services to program participants. Develops plan of action and counsel's clients in areas such as job interview skills, expected behavior on the job, and proper hygiene.
  • Works with clients to remove any barriers to employment and realize the goal of family self-sufficiency.
  • Identifies job opportunities suitable for clients, assists in filling out applications, sets up interviews with potential employers, accompanies clients to interviews, provides transportation, and follows up with employers until decisions are made. Negotiates job advancements when warranted.
  • Ensure that employment files are in accordance with specifics of the CRS grant and CWS standards and procedures.
  • Conduct regular meetings with employment program staff to ensure program services are delivered at the expected level, review service delivery, and address any issues.
  • Oversee the statistical and programmatic reporting system for all client data collection.
  • Develop individual and Family Self Sufficiency Plans (FSSP), Employability plan, budgets, short-term, and long-term goals.
  • Collaborate closely with community partners to facilitate referrals and secure appropriate services based on the Family Self-Sufficiency Plan (FSSP).
  • Responsible for staying abreast of resources available and to changes made to existing programs and services in the area.
  • Maintain accurate client information, placement information, case notes in a timely manner, and all other required forms and documents.
  • Assist vocational training clients by searching for technical programs, enrollment, and voucher disbursement for the Vocational Training Program.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Strong writing skills and computer literacy are required.
  • Strong professional ethics and sensitivity in dealing with confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required or four years of equivalent work experience in lieu of degree

Experience:
  • Minimum four years of experience in coordinating and conducting outreach activities, case management, staff supervision and program management. Minimum three years' experience working with refugee and immigrant populations.

Other Skills:
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and Web-based applications.
  • Fluency in English, Haitian Creole and/or Spanish required.

Special Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must complete motor vehicle record check.
  • Must be willing and able to travel.
  • Background check required.
  • Level 2 Fingerprints required.
