Mass General Brigham Digital is making large investments to modernize our technical stack and build out our future state data ecosystem.

We are seeking an experienced data management platform leader who will partner with the business to define our data management strategy and approach and will lead the design, delivery and maintenance of the supporting platforms. This work initially involves optimizing the existing platforms (Collibra and Profisee) , but also includes leading the right data management technology architecture and plan that delivers the capability needed to support future expansion of our Enterprise Data Platform and Services.

The individual will lead a team of engineers to develop and implement the data governance and data management strategies and policies - including but not limited ata catalogs, data quality rules and data lineage.

In the Master Data area - establishing a trusted source of Provider Master data is a key priority to support multiple use cases, as well as establishing the strategy and approach for other data domains - eg location, Patient, etc

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Provide strategic direction and leadership in the technical delivery, support, maintenance, and optimization of Data Management platforms.
Align data management strategy with business goals and objectives and develop the supporting technical strategy to elevate MGB towards a single Data Management approach and solutionLead support and maintenance of the Data Management platform (Collibra, Profisee)
Lead support and maintenance of the Azure Kubernetes clusters hosting the Profisee platform.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to Data Management platform team members.
Oversee Platform delivery and resource management, ensuring the successful execution of platforms initiatives and projects.
• Lead and support the latest Data Management (including MDM) best practices, principles and processes

Collaborates with business and technical leadership resources to plan, build and execute a product that involves multiple teams (Cloud, Data Warehouse, Data Visualization, eHR, Marketing, Application Owners, Credentialing, Human Resources, Research, Data Governance, Network Management, Security and Operations, and more)
Deep expertise in Provider Master Data Management Domain in either a Payor and/or Health System, Health Plan, Healthcare Information Exchange and/or other closely related Healthcare Information Domain highly preferred
Leads business and technical requirements team to identify viable standards to employ for Data management Services with rich subject matter expertise in HL7/FHIR and closely related healthcare terminologies
Summarizes output to report overall platforms status to stakeholders/technology leadership.
Is adept at supporting advanced Data Management Technical skilled resources including MDM, data architects, solution architects, engineers, quality assurance and testing engineers, and more
Possesses the deep understanding of the Data Management Product and teams involved in delivering the overall services
Builds strong and successful relationships with all Data Management technical and business stakeholders
Performs core platform management duties including, developing a technical strategy & roadmap, strategic roadmap, establishes and manages RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies) logs
Ensure that all platform activities from design to deployment are performed within the allotted schedules
Lead and direct daily activities, triaging defect prioritization, agile sprints, deployment/prod releases for project team and provide technical and analytical guidance to project team when needed
Works with Stakeholders to resolve technical capability gaps if identified
Presents Features and Stories, post grooming, to Stakeholders for review before prioritization
Mentor team with lessons learned and toward best practices in project methodologies
Assist in interviewing, recruitment, orientation of new hires
Develop process improvements to ensure to ensure high-quality and cost effectiveness
Other responsibilities as assigned

• This position requires occasional local travel to MGB sites, vendors, and/or conferences

• Hospital work environment working conditions include possible exposure to diseases or infections and may require safety gear (PPE) such as gloves and mask.

• Normal office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear; use hands to finger; handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop; kneel; or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.

Qualifications
Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science preferred

• Knowledge of healthcare related business processes related to medical staff offices, provider onboarding, or ambulatory and hospital operations preferred

• 5-7 years or more of experience in Data Management - Strategy, roadmap, Platform design & support

• 3+ years of experience with Master Data Management tools (Profisee Master Data Management or similar MDM platforms) required, experience in Profisee MDM, Collibra preferred

• 3+ year of Data quality, data governance and metadata management experience; Experience with Collibra and/or Informatica preferred

Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
• Adept authorizing own user stories using product management tools such as Rally, TFS, JIRA, Azure Dev Ops, Kanban, or other

• Subject matter expertise in the Provider data domain with additional knowledge of Reference Data Management, and/or Healthcare Master Data Management experience

• Five Years+ recent experience working in Health System, Health Plan, Payor, or other Healthcare Delivery model specific to Healthcare Organizations

• Solution analysis and design for both commercially available as well as developed solutions, enterprise, infrastructure architecture, systems integration, data conversion, extraction and migration, environment management, build processes, and deployment planning and execution with proven expertise in Cloud and associated data privacy/security preferred

• A self-starter that works independently, without the need for day-to-day guidance. Must be able to exhibit past experience as a technical product owner in a development environment

• Ability to set expectations and hold individuals and team members accountable to their commitments

• Able to depict and explain dependencies amongst cross-project teams that deliver on business requirements

• Has knowledge and is comfortable driving the use AGILE, Waterfall and Scrum methodologies in all technology projects and programs

• Advanced skills in the MS Office Product Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• 5-10 years of experience in enterprise organizations as an individual contributor or manager driving/leading highly complex cross-portfolio technical projects and/or technical data products

• Ability to support Eastern Time Zone year round

• Experience working with large integrated health care delivery systems preferred but Health Systems of mid-range size, Payor Organizations, and Accountable Care Organizations considered

• Versed in the following data standards: CCDA, C-CDA, HL7, and preferably FHIR (US Core, USCDI)

• Management of 3-6 resources
