Job Description:General Description
The Development Officer/Major Gifts is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of ASU-Beebe fundraising activities including, the major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, specials events and capital campaigns. The Officer reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Grant Writing and Research: Research and identify grant opportunities, write and submit compelling proposals, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines to secure funding and maintain strong relationships with funders.
Donor Engagement and Cultivation: Build and nurture relationships with donors, alumni, and community members through personalized communications, impact reports, and recognition programs to enhance engagement, foster loyalty, and encourage giving.
Fundraising Initiatives and Events: Plan and execute fundraising campaigns and events, manage logistics and promotion for a seamless donor experience, and collaborate with the marketing team to enhance fundraising strategies and materials.
Corporate Partnerships: Identify and secure corporate partnership opportunities aligned with ASUB's goals, while coordinating sponsorships for events and programs to maximize impact and visibility.
Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate donor and fundraising records, analyze campaign data for improvement, and generate reports to keep leadership and stakeholders informed of progress and outcomes.
Planned Giving and Major Gifts: Expand the planned giving program by focusing on deferred gifts and endowments while identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift prospects aligned with ASUB's priorities.
Collaboration and Outreach: Partner with campus leaders to align fundraising with strategic goals, represent ASUB at community and alumni events to build relationships, and contribute updates and insights during Development Council meetings.
Professional Conduct and Knowledge: Uphold professionalism and ethical standards while representing ASU-Beebe, and effectively communicate its mission, history, and funding priorities to stakeholders.
Some light travel and occasional overnight travel is required.
Education:Four year college degree, or equivalent experience resulting in broad knowledge of a field related to the job, such as accounting, marketing, business administration, agriculture etc.
Experience General:3 years related experience and/or training.
Previous experience in fundraising, capital campaigns, grant writing and supervision of such activities.
CFRE certification preferred.
