The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary

The Digital Transportation Analyst is the technical expert for the Transportation Management systems (Blue Yonder-TM/TP and Caterpillar-TOCS/TVS) used globally and across multiple transportation modes. This person is responsible for ensuring that the technology solutions for the department are operational and meeting the needs of the organization. In this role one is expected to collaborate with both technical and non-technical business partners to identify and implement continuous improvement through usage of system automation and analytics while driving global standards to be used across the various global transportation teams.

Additional Information

  • This position is located in Morton, IL and does not provide relocation
  • Travel is expected 10% or less with this role
What You Will Do
  • Function as the expert of transportation systems and processes for regions including North America, Brazil, Europe, China, Japan, India, Australia, etc. with continuous improvement via system automation and analytics
  • Offer exceptional customer service while troubleshooting and resolving systems issues by managing ticket queue of requests received globally
  • Ensure that the Transportation Management (TM) system and supporting peripheral systems are functioning effectively and supporting the end users
  • Work closely with the implementation team to ensure that the systems are configured appropriately for the specific customer requirements (with the pre-defined operational standards)
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline processes, drive standard work, and eliminate waste
  • Map out systems processes and communicate them to end users
  • Initiate and follow through detailed and significantly complex job tasks in a timely manner with minimal instruction or review
  • Establish, train, and support internal users on the various systems
What You Have (Basic Qualifications)
  • Process Management : Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
  • Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Relationship Management : Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
What Will Set You Apart (Top Candidate Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science, Logistics or Supply Chain)
  • Transportation - PHA : Knowledge of and experience with the means of transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers the manufacturing facility.
  • Logistics Management : Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies.
  • Supply Chain Management : Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies, practices and tools for controlling the whole processes.
  • Knowledge of Transportation planning and execution software, preferably Blue Yonder TMS
  • Strong knowledge of Tableau and / or PowerBI
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake, Python , SQL and / or API
  • 6 Sigma/Lean Experience

Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
