Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, Payments, the Director of Sales is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the acquisition of net new ISV, partner, and direct merchant accounts. This individual is both a coach and a player-capable of leading and mentoring a high-performing team while actively engaging in sales activities. They will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and also rolling up their sleeves to participate in key client engagements, providing an example of excellence in sales execution. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, strong sales acumen, and the ability to inspire and guide a team to excel.

We are looking for a who will:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to identify, target, and close new ISV, partner, and direct merchant accounts. Establish clear objectives and key results (OKRs) aligned with company goals.
  • Coach/Player Leadership: Actively lead by example, participating directly in high-value sales activities and strategic engagements. Serve as a hands-on sales leader who models best practices while empowering and mentoring team members to succeed independently.
  • Team Development & Mentorship: Hire, train, and coach a team of sales professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Regularly assess team performance, provide personalized coaching, and support career development.
  • Market Development & Partner Engagement: Identify and build strategic partnerships with ISVs and industry partners. Drive initiatives to increase market reach and maximize revenue from the partnership ecosystem.
  • Pipeline Management: Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring consistent growth and accuracy in sales forecasting. Leverage Salesforce and data analytics to optimize sales performance and inform decision-making.
  • Customer-Centric Focus: Collaborate closely with product and customer success teams to ensure a seamless customer journey from onboarding through post-sale support. Act as a voice of the customer to align product and service enhancements with client needs.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Influence: Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to support sales initiatives, drive customer acquisition, and improve brand presence in the marketplace.
  • Metrics & Performance Analysis: Regularly monitor sales performance metrics and KPIs, preparing reports for executive leadership. Use data-driven insights to refine sales strategies and target market segments effectively.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the payments or fintech industry.
  • Proven track record of success in acquiring and scaling ISV, partner, and merchant accounts.
  • Demonstrated "coach/player" mentality-able to inspire and develop others while leading through personal sales engagements.
  • Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem and relevant sales strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in leveraging CRM and analytics for sales optimization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with changing priorities.
  • Experience working within a SaaS or business process automation environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in payments.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate strategic partnerships with technology providers and industry leaders.

Position Pay Range:

This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to geographical location and experience.
$161,183.02-$257,893.08

This role is eligible for a bonus opportunity.
