Job Summary:

Responsible for supervising and managing TRIO Student Support Services Program (SSS); organizing and administering all aspects of the implementation of student services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program Management & Compliance:
    • Develops and implements appropriate methodology for evaluating the effectiveness of program personnel, program participants and progress toward meeting program objectives.
    • Adheres to all federal, state and institutional policies, regulations, processes and procedures for the project.
    • Oversee record-keeping, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with rules.
  • Recordkeeping & Reports:
    • Manages and evaluates all student records, program documentation, and required paperwork as outlined in the grant application.
    • Responsible for the completion of grant reports and evaluation summaries.
    • Report outcomes to University Administrators, implement changes to areas if necessary Responsible for the development, preparation and submission of grant proposal and program reports.
    • Evaluates progress of project in meeting Annual Performance Report measures and project objective.
  • Fiscal Management:
    • Responsible for account monitoring and budget management.
    • Manages the budget and recommends changes and adjustments as necessary.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate full-time and part-time employees.
    • Receive and review weekly reports from grant personnel; management of staff projects and overall Project priorities.
  • Outreach and Networking:
    • Coordinate and collaborate with University personnel and departments to help enhance SSS Program services and publicize activities. P
    • Promote Program throughout the UTA campus and community.
  • Student Recruitment and Student Development:
    • Assist with the identification and selection of eligible participants; advise, guide, and mentor SSS participants as needed.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or ten years experience working with grant programs to support historically underserved populations.
  • Experience in an educational backgrounds include education, administration, social/behavioral sciences, social work, or related fields as examples
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in teaching, coaching, mentoring, and/or advising SSS eligible students (low-SES students, first generation students, and/or students with disabilities).
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in designing, managing, and/or implementing SSS or similar program for disadvantaged/underrepresented students.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some doctoral coursework; Ph.D. degree.
  • Experience and ability to research and write grant proposal(s).
  • Experience with adult and/or underprepared learners.
  • Experience with personnel supervision, developing and monitoring budgets, preparing program reports and conducting program evaluation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Confidentiality & Compliance with policies and regulations (Federal and University)
  • Knowledge of grant policies and regulations.
  • Ability to exercise judgment with interpretation of Federal regulations and maintenance of program compliance.
  • Knowledge of college student development, financial aid programs, career decision making, assessments and processes for responding to participant needs with available resources.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with campus administration, faculty, staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across campus and community stakeholders.
  • Organizational abilities - planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation
  • Critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Evidence of professional organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
