SUMMARY

The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components for various projects. Analyzes and troubleshoots electrical issues, develops solutions, and contributes to the optimization of electrical designs in support of the U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL) aeromedical research and development. This position is 100% onsite in Fort Novosel, AL.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two to four (2-4) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs laboratory procedures, testing, research activities, and other scientific and administrative tasks in the field of electrical engineering.

Assists with developing testing procedures and data collection necessary to execute project goals.

Assists with acquiring, analyzing, and evaluating data gathered during research.

Requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field.

Follows instructions and guidelines to perform the functions of the job, including, but not limited to, relevant standard operating procedures, national standards of research technical accuracy, and/or other written guidelines provided. Reads, understands, and executes techniques and procedures within the quality standards and timelines prescribed by the research plan.

Records all laboratory procedures, research project data, and results in government-authorized notebooks and electronic systems in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two to four (2-4) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical ability to stand and or walk frequently. May climb on a ladder or scaffolding to heights in excess of 10'. Bend/stoop, push/pull and work above the shoulder frequently. Occasionally balance, kneel, crouch, and squat. May carry up to 25 pounds of weight distances of up to 50 feet at a time, occasionally up to and including 50 pounds of weight distances of 25' and rarely up to 50 pounds distances of 5'. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds of weight from the floor to the waist. This weight will be constituted by the following items, but not limited to them: tools, toolboxes and tool bags, ladders, motors, supplies and equipment.
