Incumbent will perform heavy and light duty cleaning and related maintenance work in assigned area or building complex.
This is a night shift position: Monday - Friday 3:30 P.M. - 12 A.M. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch

Cleaning/Maintenance
Performs heavy duty cleaning in classrooms, lavatories, laboratories, and other assigned areasCleans, sanitizes, and polishes lavatory fixturesSanitizes furniture, woodwork, walls, windows, and glass itemsShampoos carpets, and furnitureCleans light fixtures, and replacing light bulbsRemoves waste and debris from assigned areasMeasures and mixes compounds, disinfectants, and sanitizing agents and applies according to procedures or manufacturers' specificationsSweep, mop, buff, strip, seal, floors in assigned areasWashes inside and outside windows in single and multi-story buildingsPerforms preventive maintenance on cleaning equipmentVerifies doors are locked, lights are off, and appliances are offReports fire hazards and other hazards as warrantedShovel snow from walkways and spread ice melt in assigned areasRemoves trash and boxes from assigned areasCommunicates with foreman when supplies are low in assigned areasKeep work space clean and organizedPerform miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedEquipment Operation:
Operates heavy-duty scrubbers, buffers, shampooers, vacuums, and wet/dry equipmentChecks equipment before use to insure its readyUses airlift platforms, dollies, ladders, and hand cartsReplaces belts, brushes, bags, pads, filters, and bearings in power equipmentReports fire hazards and other emergenciesMiscellaneous:
The custodians perform a variety of duties to help ensure the campus operates smoothly. This may include: Setting-up bleachers, tables, and chairs for special events, and providing direction and answering basic questions regarding events for patrons Taking down the set-up and re-setting for another special eventAbility to move heavy items such as tables, chairs, and pushing the bleacher backAbility to or seek help in repairing equipment and related devicesUsing computers to communicate and report dataPerform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications
- Able to repetitively lift 65 pounds
- Able to lift and carry items weighing approximately 90 pounds
- Able to work 8 hours on your feet
- Willingness to perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, including operating industrial-type cleaning equipment such as high-speed buffers and vacuum cleaners
- Ability to lift and move heavy items such as tables, chairs, and bleachers
- Ability to repair and maintain custodial equipment
- Knowledge of computers
- Incumbent must reside in Idaho (CEI does not currently sponsor H-1B visas)

This position involves lifting and carrying items weighing approximately 90 pounds, bending, stooping, and climbing ladders. Incumbent may work in all weather conditions and move in and around confined spaces. Work may be required in remote and rugged terrain.
Onsite work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.
