In order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:Grants & Contracts Management Analyst will oversee and manage all pre-award activities for assigned principal investigators as part of the COM Grants Management Office (GMO), which serves over 370 investigators; participates with the development and preparation of grant proposals in collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI); creates budgets and provides expertise with the review of biographical sketches, resources, letters of support and other required administrative components of grant proposal submission; provides proposal development tools, aids and direct support to faculty; establishes appropriate sub-recipient budgets and documents as needed for grant submissions, which may include coordinating with other internal staff, responsible for locating relevant materials, formatting, and editing all proposal documents; serves as primary contact on proposal submissions for assigned grants; coordinates submission of proposals with the Office of Sponsored Programs; responsible for interpreting regulations and guidelines of program funding and ensuring those using funds understand such policies; ; participates in educational onboarding of new PIs and their staff; may assist in the preparation and submission of Training Grant applications and support of large, interdisciplinary program grant proposals; works closely with more senior grant managers or leadership to obtain appropriate documentation or approval when a University contribution is proposed; collaborates with GMO post award staff; collaborates with grants post award staff; works collaboratively with post award Grants and Contract specialists to ensure appropriate documentation is transferred upon award and effort requirements are reported accurately. Participates in monitoring compliance in financial policies and procedures by resolving mid-size compliance-related issues and reporting larger issues to management; gathers protocol information, reviews PI current and pending, and other support documentation,and ensures appropriate human subject trainings are completed by research faculty and personnel within the timeframe provided by the sponsor when a proposal is likely to be funded; performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant grant or contract management experience. Requires successful completion of
a background check. Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
In addition:
Intermediate word processing skills.
Intermediate spreadsheet skills to include the ability to create simple formulas.
Ability to identify issues.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Solid communication skills in order to clearly explain options and solutions to customers.
Ability to positively project the department internally and externally.
