Your Role:

The Life Science Hazard Communication Team is a globally operating Team of Regulatory Affairs Professionals. We manage the world's most diverse portfolio of commercial chemicals with all associated regulatory and compliance challenges. We achieve this with highly specialized, scalable, and global IT solutions.

We now want to extend our team with a position in St. Louis - Spruce site.

As a Hazard Communication Expert, you are responsible for wide-ranging technical, strategic, leadership, Product Compliance, and knowledge management activities as you evaluate and optimize organizational design and (work) processes. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Create and maintain product data sets and classify MilliporeSigma products according to national and international regulations (e.g., GHS, CLP, OSHA)
  • Author and revise SDS for MilliporeSigma products in SAP EH&S/Product Compliance, ensuring data accuracy and quality
  • Utilize (physico-)chemical knowledge as an essential linker to hazard communication aspects
  • Support customer requests related to Hazard Communication and especially to SDS
  • Create internal guidance documents and conduct training sessions
  • Review new/updated regulatory requirements for hazard communication of chemicals, focusing on US, Canadian, and Latin American legislation
  • Manage business requirements for the SAP EH&S/Product Compliance module, bridging local needs to global teams
  • Participate in global regulatory affairs projects and serve as the local focal point for various topics
  • Serve as the point of contact for Digital Transformation, Label, and Product Compliance rollout teams, gathering requirements for hazard communication and staying updated on relevant developments
  • Contribute to validation and improvement of existing processes

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other Life Science discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in chemical regulations, including US and Canadian legislation such as OSHA, HCS, TSCA, EPA, HPA, HPR, CEPA, and Cal Prop 65, as well as Latin American regulations for key markets including Brazil, Mexico, and Chile
Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Biology, or other Life Science discipline
  • Strong knowledge of chemistry, including an understanding of physical chemical properties and their relationship to chemical hazards
  • Strong knowledge of SDS authoring
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex tasks in dynamic environments.
  • Results-driven, continually seeking to exceed expectations, collaborative and purposeful
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multicultural, global team
  • Strong analytical mindset and skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and OneDrive applications
  • Experience with SAP EH&S, Product Compliance, Python, and SQL
