Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Student Life and Engagement, the Bear Den Help Center Coordinator is responsible for student outreach and engagement initiatives, providing direct resources and support to students. The coordinator oversees all campus Bear Den locations and the related chat system. They oversee cohort staffing and reporting of Bear Den-related activities.
Job Duties
* Provide general oversight and management for all campus Bear Den locations, the related chat system, and Bear Den/Student Needs email.
* Foster collaboration with student-facing offices, including but not limited to the following: Accessibilities, Admissions and Records, Advising Resource Center, Counseling, Financial Aid, scholarships, Student Life, and TRiO.
* Coordinate and oversee staffing for all Bear Dens, provide cross-training opportunities for cohort members, as applicable, and address staffing concerns with the chair of the QEP Implementation Team as they arise. Forward suggestions, comments, and concerns related to the Bear Dens to the QEP Implementation Team Chair.
* Identify and implement effective strategies to meet defined unit objectives.
* Serve as point of contact for TN Achieves and the Summer Bridge Program.
* Establish and maintain partnerships with community resources to serve student needs.
* Provide supervision to staff
* Manage Bear Den web pages.
* Manage budget as appropriate.
* Participate and assist with on and off-campus events relating to marketing the Bear Den and Student Needs Program.
* Provide excellent customer service in person, by phone, text, and email.
* Serve on internal and external committees as needed.
* Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
Three years of experience in an educational institution working directly with students
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree from an accredited institution
Three years of experience with Banner Student Information System
Conversational ability or fluency in a second language
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
* Ability to track multiple projects through planning implementation, and follow-up.
* Ability to function with a high degree of independence.
* Ability to use mobile technology to enhance office communications.
