Position Overview
This position is an introductory position to SubCom through the Supply Chain organization where you can apply your skills and learn the unique business requirements needed to connect the world.
As you learn the business from departmental team members you will apply your negotiation, risk management, decision making, communication, and contract management skills to lay the foundation for successful contract awards. Candidate will interface with individuals from all SubCom locations as well as cross-functional teams (CFT) which make up the many organizations of SubCom, which will provide insight to additional opportunities within SubCom. The position requires the strong ability to negotiate various goods and services with a diverse Supply base. Developing a keen understanding of Business objectives, Budget, and Cost Savings requirements.
The position responsibilities include the review and updating of contract templates to ensure compliance and consistency, for use by all members of SubCom when procuring goods and services. In addition, candidate will solicit requests for information/quotation/proposal (RFI/Q/P), and any other information necessary to support new and existing agreements and purchase orders. The primary function is to support the Administrative, Indirect Agreements which may include R&D Development, Manufacturing, Marine, and General Agreements with strategic/tactical suppliers within these organizations. In addition, this position is responsible for creating, coordinating and establishing various Supply Chain Policies and Procedures. Candidate will be located in Newington, NH or Baltimore, MD however may be required to travel to Eatontown, New Jersey or other SubCom locations as needed. Essential Job Functions:
Working with the business units you will gain an insight to other departments within SubCom which will allow the opportunity for growth and cross training.
Responsibilities
This position will coordinate the functions associated with all aspects of Supply Chain Management, including supplier negotiations, budget review, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and risk management. Candidate will be the central point to communicate and coordinate all activities of contract negotiations up to contract award. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
