JOB OVERVIEW/PURPOSE: The Research and Development Intern will gain the experience of working in an analytical research laboratory for extraction and analysis of different food products from fruits and vegetables. The intern will assist other lab personnel and receive training on laboratory protocols for R &D and quality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - FTIR testing and HPTLC testing
- Preparation of samples and reagents
- Run laboratory protocols for chemical analysis
- Evaluation of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities
- Assist other laboratory personnel and projects as needed
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: - Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Attention to detail and demonstrated time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Initiative, resourcefulness, and strong interpersonal skills
- Have a curious, proactive and solution-oriented approach
- Desire to learn and grow professionally
- Creative and innovative ideas
- Ability to take direction and multi-task
EDUCATION: - Upperclassman (incoming Junior or Senior) at an accredited College or University
- Preferred Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Desired Major(s): Chemistry, Biology
