SummaryExperienced and dependable individual competent in cellular and molecular biology techniques, with strong multi-tasking and organizational abilities is required to oversee large research projects on CMV and AIDS in the Principal Investigatorâs laboratory. The candidate should have experience handling biological samples under biosafety level 2+ conditions and be proficient in several laboratory techniques including cell culture, ELISA and flow cytometry assays, RNA/DNA extraction and conduct of real-time PCR assays. The candidate will be required to troubleshoot experiments as well as develop and implement new assays as required for specific research projects. The candidate will manage the laboratory as well as supervise and co-ordinate all administrative, financial and operational matters required for implementation of projects. The candidate will be in overall charge of the laboratory including ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, general laboratory maintenance, scheduling of experiments, and collating, organizing and presenting data. The candidate will supervise other laboratory personnel and train new staff and students in basic laboratory techniques. The candidateâs supervisory responsibilities include coaching, counseling, disciplining and completing annual performance reviews on supervised personnel.
