Position Overview

- Perform the necessary skills that allow blades to be transported / maneuvered inside and outside the loading and storage areas. Transport materials to assigned areas and provide the necessary support for shipping goods and product to the identified internal and external destinations based on accepted industry and shop practices. Document and record all materials and products as required. Perform required equipment inspections for safe operation and delivery of the blades. Work with others as needed for the blade moving process.
- The position is located US-Fort Madison, IA.
- Relocation will not be offered for this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Receive and perform work assignments in oral and/or written format.
- Accurately document all deliveries and provide blade verification for truck loading as required.
- Understand directions through the use of radio transmission.
- Inspect and record all equipment and lifting aids used daily.
- Move and store blades according to process flow requirements.
- Provide verification of blade truck loading.
- Operate Articulated Loader and Cranes as required for loading and unloading blades on trucks or storage equipment.
- Maneuver blades throughout the facility utilizing a spotter as needed.
- Follow all applicable specifications and procedures regarding the performance of shop operations.
- Use all required safety equipment and follow established safety procedures.
- Provide technical direction and training of lower classifications as required.
- Keep work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Support and apply team concepts in daily activities.
Required Knowledge/Skill, Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Passing score on General Equipment usage test.
- Work schedule may vary depending on plant needs. Must be able to work up to 12 hours per day if needed.
- 1-2 years experience driving Forklift and Semi-Truck and Trailer.
- Acquire a fork-lift driving license by passing company test requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to maneuver blades into and out of the respective work areas.
- Acquire blade transport certification.
- Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver's license at the time of application with a clean driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks throughout employment with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
