SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Maintenance Manager provides clear direction and effective leadership to the Maintenance department through goal setting and timely feedback. This individual is responsible for supporting the activities of the manufacturing operation and leading continuous improvement efforts within the maintenance and manufacturing areas. Ensures that the facility, infrastructure and equipment are properly maintained with a focus on safety, quality and performance.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides leadership to the Maintenance group and ensures the department operates safely and efficiently.
2. Manages capital projects and project timelines from inception through to completion.
3. Monitors equipment performance and safety to ensure equipment performs to required standards.
4. Directs preventive maintenance activities and ensures that PM program is effective and that maximum efficiencies are achieved.
5. Develops opportunities to reduce costs or improve performance through effective capital planning and/or workflow redesign.
6. Timely and effective communication with Plant Manager and Manufacturing Manager on key equipment or downtime issues.
7. Assists in development of annual plant budget.
8. Monitor and prioritize maintenance spending to ensure timely repairs at the best value.
9. Member of plant Safety Committee with a strong commitment to safety.
10. Oversees and participates in ongoing training program for subordinates and key employees.
11. Provides support as needed for a 24hour blow molding operation.

EDUCATION: Required: High School Diploma Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
EXPERIENCE: Required: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a medium to large manufacturing facility with experience supervising a department.
Preferred: 5 - 10 years' experience as a Maintenance Manager in a shuttle blow molding facility.
SKILLS: Required: Strong technical background; proven leader with experience supervising technicians; strong writing and computer skills. Good communication skills. Strong commitment to safety.
Preferred: Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting; Hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills. Processing background in a blow molding facility.
