Summary of Role
The Manufacturing Technician I is accountable for driving results in a fast-paced environment by assisting with the manufacturing of API products. The Manufacturing Technician I assists with the manufacturing process and by ensuring areas are safe, clean and compliant with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). The Manufacturing Technician I works collaboratively to support other manufacturing areas as required. The position requires execution of the Sterling Values and non-negotiables, as well as expertise in functional competencies included in this position profile.

Essential Functions

  • Follows applicable SOPs and cGMPs to perform assigned duties and tasks.
  • Ensures timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.
  • Performs cleaning of rooms, tools and equipment; including cGMP Manufacturing Packaging and Drying spaces utilizing approved cleaning practices and materials, per SOPs and cGMPs.
  • Coordinates the removal, consolidation, inspection and preparation for outbound shipment of used drums.
  • Performs monthly area safety inspections in concert with area supervisors, per SOPs.
  • Assists with operation of manufacturing and material handling equipment.
  • Documents activities in real time on controlled documentation and legibly, per SOPs and cGMPs.
  • Performs weight checks, component counting and basic math calculations.
  • Assists with other manufacturing duties as required.
  • Ensures timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.

Key Competencies
  • Ability to adhere to cGMP requirements required. Knowledge of and prior work experience in a cGMP environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety and security rules and regulations as well as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on projects.
  • Ability to maintain positive attendance record.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Ability to safeguard sensitive, valuable, or critical proprietary information in a reliable manner to ensure company and information security.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to move materials throughout the facility using appropriate methods and equipment required.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • None.
Travel Requirement
  • Up to 5% travel required.
