Mechanical Designer

Location: Plymouth, MN, Hybrid

Our client's Mechanical Engineering team is at the forefront of designing comprehensive systems for material handling, process ventilation, building safety, and more. We specialize in creating process and utility piping, heat exchangers, as well as HVAC and plumbing systems tailored for agribusiness, industrial, and commercial infrastructures.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed layout plans, sections, and CAD drawings in alignment with specified standards, collaborating closely with engineers and project managers.
• Lead and delegate tasks to Technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and quality outcomes.
• Conduct thorough reviews of Technician-generated work, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
• Engage in active coordination with fellow design team members and liaise with product vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Act as a point of communication for clients and contractors, addressing RFIs and field inquiries promptly and effectively.
• Keep a vigilant eye on project fees and drafting hours, comprehend the full scope of the project, and proactively identify opportunities for additional services.
• Perform meticulous reviews of shop drawings to guarantee precision and compliance.
• Participate in both internal and external coordination meetings, contributing valuable insights as required.
• Be willing to travel occasionally for on-site observations and to conduct field measurements.

Qualifications:

• A certificate in construction-related design/drafting or higher, coupled with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or a total of four years of experience in a directly related field.
• Proficiency in REVIT 3D modeling is essential.
• Experience in HVAC and plumbing design is highly desirable and will be given special consideration.
