Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Medical Assistant.

• Position type: Contract - to- hire
• Location: Flushing, New York
• Job/ Shift Hours: Mon-Fri from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (w/ 1-hour lunch)

As a Medical Assistant, you will be required to have:

• Performs all routine medical assistant functions with consistency, according to policy/best practice and expected service standards, while adhering to the participants' right for privacy and dignity.
• Consistently and accurately takes and documents in the EMR participant's blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight.
• Draws blood and collects specimens according to Infection Control protocols, per MD order and consistent with all other established policies/best practices.
• Processes specimens according to policy in preparation for pick-up and identifying specimen correctly.
• Matches request form with specimen and appropriately centrifuges specimens if required.
• Accurately and without delay orders laboratory tests as per physician's written orders
• Tracks test results, informing physician in writing of canceled lab tests.
• Schedules Home Draw Labs and obtaining applicable reports on an ongoing basis via software.
• At all times, maintains strict confidentiality of any/all participant information.
• Assist MD as requested, including translation and set up of equipment for examination and clean up when necessary.
• Provides coverage for the Front Desk Area as needed and other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The ideal candidate must have:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Medical technician training. Vision screening training.
• At least one (1) year of venipuncture experience, preferably with the elderly population.
• EMR experience
• License/Registration: Medical Assistant Certification (must be certified Phlebotomist); EKG.
• Excellent communication skills.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $20 - $26 per hour.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
