How you can make a bigger difference: The Mishkon Division provides supports and services in a healthy and safe environment for individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities living in residential programs and in community settings. Our core values are to provide a healthy and safe environment that promotes person centered planning, community integration, and close collaboration with families and the community. This is all accomplished through an Orthodox Jewish lens, and with an understanding that staff, at all levels of the division, is the determining factor in achieving positive outcomes for our clients.
The overnight and weekend supervisor is responsible for providing oversight of the Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) or Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) serving adults with developmental disabilities. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Residential Services, the Residence Supervisor oversees weekend and overnight hours' operations of the program in line with the OPWDD regulations and Assistant Directors' instructions and ensures consistent and appropriate program coverage.
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides weekend, overnight and Jewish Holiday residential supervisory coverage.
- Conduct overnight and weekend fire drills.
- On Shabbos and Jewish Holiday's ensure Jewish Customs and Laws are observed.
- Respond to Residential emergency while on duty.
- Review shift summary notes weekly.
- Enter informational notes to My Avatar as needed.
- Send daily email reports regarding observations, concerns, findings while on shift.
- Will be on-call to ensure appropriate coverage in the facility and to provide guidance in emergency. May be required to on-call to provide emergency coverage in the event of a serious staff shortage.
- Other duties as assigned.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent written/oral communication skills; ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
- Cultural competence regarding Jewish religious, spiritual, cultural and communal practice.
EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED:
- Minimum education level of an associate's degree in human services required.
- A valid driver's license.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:- A minimum of three (3) years working with the I/DD population as well as one (1) year of supervisory experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED:- Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); comfortable and proficient using audio video platforms (i.e., Zoom).
VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY:
- Must be able to review residence evacuation plans and fire safety plans and document fire drills via electronic or manual reports.
- Must be able to review summary shift notes and enter notes into EHR systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL EFFORT: - Lifting requirements of 40-80 lbs.
