Job Description

This individual will have a central focus on the inventorying, sample organization, request prioritization and fulfillment, and processing of Large Molecule, Small Molecule, and Biospecimen samples, with daily responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Receiving, handling, and storing temperature and time-sensitive samples.
  • Adhering to and working to optimize SOPs and work guides that outline Large Molecule, Small Molecule, and Biospecimen processing procedures.
  • Generating labels and/or labeled tubes to support sample inventory management.
  • Operating in Microsoft Excel and online databases to manage a comprehensive inventory of Small and Large Molecule containers and materials, and acquiring proficiency in electronic reconciliation, sample organization, sample revisions, and request-fulfillment.
  • Working 1:1 with scientists to tailor their complex sample fulfillment requests to their needs and accommodate their timelines.
  • Retrieving and delivering/shipping samples to internal requesting scientists and/or external sites or CROs.
  • Receiving and storing samples from internal scientists and external CROs for long-term archiving.
  • Processing Large Molecule, Small Molecule and Biospecimen samples, including centrifugation, aliquoting, hand and automation titrating.
  • Developing operational proficiency with all lab automation equipment, such as centrifuges, tube labelers, aliquoters, temperature-controlled TubeStores, and learning how to troubleshoot errors on said equipment.
  • Utilizing strong math skills to verify compound titrations, dilution factors, solvation proportions, final sample concentration aligns with original request, and unit conversion.
  • Performing all the above functions under both GLP/GCP and non-GLP/GCP conditions
  • Rapidly adapting in this role as daily responsibilities change due to new demands.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related field, or equivalent experience in industry-based research.
  • Previous experience in a role that required inventory management and/or Small Molecule, Large Molecule, or Biospecimen processing under both GLP/GCP and non-GLP/GCP conditions
  • Strong mathematical abilities
  • Organizational skills and the abilityto prioritize and handle a high volume of tasks.
  • Customer-service oriented mindset, with a willingness to accommodate special, time-sensitive, or comprehensive end-user requests.
  • Aptitude for learning/using lab automation, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and online Inventory databases.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills a plus.

Additional Information
  • Position is full-time, first shift, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMwith some variation as needed.
  • The majority of work will be conducted in a lab environment; however, some work may be done in an office setting. The use of appropriate PPE (safety glasses, lab coat, gloves) will be required.
