Job Title: mRNA - Associate Engineer Process Development (Drug Substance) - Vaccines

  • Perform experiments in support of mRNA drug substance process development such as In vitro transcription (IVT) and purification etc.
  • Use QbD principles to develop and improve scale down models for mRNA GMP drug substance production to support process understanding, CPP/KPP identification, and robustness studies (PAR and NOR validation) etc.
  • Assist with designing experiments and analyzing results with supervisor and other colleagues.
  • Critical thinking and analysis of data will be central to all aspects of this position.
  • Keep detailed records using an electronic laboratory notebook and do data entry.
  • Help with raw material inventory, consumables, and buffer preparation.
  • Use established procedures, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Be able to transform novel approaches into routine practice.
  • Assist with preparation of technical reports and presentations to clearly communicate scientific findings as needed.
  • Apply the 5S lean methodology in the laboratory environment. Improve productivity and lab safety.

About You

  • Earned Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years' experience, or Master's degree with up to 3 years' experience in Biochemistry, engineering, or related degree
  • Experience in large molecule drug substance development required
  • Experience of biologics purification using chromatography is required. Other downstream experiences, for instance enzyme reactions, mixing, depth filtration, tangential flow filtration, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of mRNA characterization methods preferred
  • Capable of working in a collaborative team environment both within group and on interdisciplinary teams
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to present findings to a diverse scientific group in a clear and concise manner is necessary
