Northwest Public Broadcasting's (NWPB) Music & Community Radio Producer/Host will oversee and curate the programming for NWPB's jazz service that includes KOHO 101.1FM in Wenatchee and KJEM 89.7FM in Pullman. As the Music & Community Radio Producer/Host, you will assist with local content creation to serve the North Central Washington community. Working closely with station management, producers, and other staff members, you will develop and execute high-quality music programming that will engage and educate the station's audience. You will also serve as the public face of the jazz service by hosting on-air broadcasts; researching, coordinating and conducting interviews; and creating a captivating and informative listening experience for jazz enthusiasts.
This position is located in Wenatchee, WA.
Required Qualifications:
A relevant Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional radio experience which has included classical music experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Any genre of music experience will suffice for the 3 years of progressively responsible professional radio experience.
Two (2) years of program directing experience that includes a combination of one (1) year of professional radio on-air host experience and experience in cataloging, record-keeping, and/or database management.
Demonstrated excellence in written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Authentic, conversational broadcast voice and ability to work with direction and coaching.
Demonstrated ability and knowledge of broadcast production and equipment.
Audio production skills.
Experience with digital and automation systems, database management, on-air interviewing.
Programming and music broadcasting, strong knowledge of jazz and other forms of music.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the public radio field.
Experience with digital production, broadcasting, website and social media platforms.

Monthly Salary:
$5,139.79 to $6,506.06 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Temporary End Date:
This is a temporary position expected to end one year after hire date. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Northwest Public Broadcasting at WSU has been reliably funded for many years, and we expect funding to continue to support this position.

This position has been designated by the department to require a background check because it requires access to children or vulnerable adults as defined by RCW 74.34, engages in law enforcement, requires security clearance, interacts with WSU students in a counseling or advising capacity, has access to personal identifying and/or financial information, unsupervised access to university buildings/property, or other business-related need. A background check will not be completed until an initial determination of qualification for employment has been made.
