Network Engineer

We have successfully partnered finding technical talent for one of our most forward thinking engineering partners. Their company is focused on using their their size and talent to create nimble and unique solutions in Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Modeling & Simulation, Data Science & Analytics, Machine Learning, Energy, and Power Systems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and upgrade of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems.
• Design, support, and manage a multi-zone network architecture.
• Monitor network connectivity and ensures high quality data transmission.
• Create network diagrams with approved tools.
• Analyze local and wide area network systems, to include testing.
• Resolve complex interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms.
• Configure communication media with routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices.
• Configure routine systems to user environments.
• Participate in planning, researching, evaluating, designing, and developing plans for network systems.
• Conduct internal studies and research.
• Support acquisition of hardware and software, as well as subcontractor services as needed.
• Provide technical support to various departments and users.
• Serve as liaison with vendors and other third-party providers.
• May assist in proposal prep for new solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• Minimum of 8-10 years of related experience
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance
• Active CCNA or CCNP certification
• Excellent communication skills
• Desired Qualifications
  • Current or previous Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
  • Knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine and CyberVision
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products to include Visio
  • Knowledge of layer 2 switching
  • Experience with OSI 7 layer model
  • Experience with Static, Dynamic, and Layer 3 routing
  • ITIL knowledge
