Location: Liberty, NC
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Network Wireless Engineer.
Roles and Responsibilities.
Support a Cisco-centric WAN, LAN, and WLAN environment. This includes Switches, Wireless, routers, firewalls, and security.
Own and fulfill small to large strategic or tactical wireless projects. Function as a point of escalation for project execution issues.
Paired with another junior engineer, manage 3-4 large simultaneous wireless refresh projects per quarter to completion
Conduct and or coordinate site surveys, develop site plans to gain total coverage of the facility
Build BOM, coordinate resources, track execution, and validate deployment/upgraded equipment/site.
Supervise and or perform site installs, maintenance, upgrades, or software enhancements to support the network infrastructure needs.
Function as a point of escalation for operational entities regarding regular or complex issues.
Monitor the system for trouble areas and proactively resolve and document root causes.
Work on daily service tickets while engaged in enterprise wireless deployments.
Strong experience with both centralized and local Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers.
Strong experience with Cisco Lightweight Access Points.
Strong understanding of WLAN technologies, network management, 802.11 b/g/n/ac standards.
Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with analysis tools such as Ekahau, Wireshark, etc.
Design, test, and implement new Wi-Fi deployments and upgrades to existing infrastructure
Engage with manufacturer technical support centers to quickly resolve issues as they arise as necessary.
Monitor the system for trouble areas and proactively resolve and document root causes.
Experience working with Agile methodologies or working as part of an Agile team.
Must have Technical/Functional Skills.
8 to 10 years of professional experience.
High-level teaming and communication skills to influence and persuade others.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to management.
Deep understanding of Cisco Wireless infrastructure for campuses, Data Centers, and remote sites. Need to collaborate with other network, security, and domain architects to evaluate and introduce new technology standards.
Implementing Cisco SDA (Software-Defined Access), DNAC with Wireless Network Technologies and Meraki Solutions.
Strong experience with Tools like Cisco DNAC, Cisco ISE, PagerDuty, Data Dog & Thousand Eyes.
Deep understanding of Local Area Network (LAN) switching technologies including Cisco Wireless, SDA, DNAC, ISE, Virtual LAN (VLAN), STP, Trunking, and Wireless concepts.
Experienced Required.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification
Proficient with scripting technologies, including but not limited to Python, Ansible, Perl, and Terraform.
Cisco Wireless/WLAN, SDA, DNAC & ISE.
