- Is responsible and accountable for:
- Cost effective decision-making regarding operations including utilization and application of resources. (i.e., human resources, patient care environment, supplies, etc.)
- Directing and supervising professional and non-professional staff
- Determining staff assignment and scheduling
- Assuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Participating in the development of patient care standards and delivery of care processes.
- Facilitating and participating in staff development, including orientation and training.
- Participating in performance evaluation and management including verbal coaching and counseling.
- Participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the quality improvement and safety plan.
- Maintaining a clinical environment that demonstrates service excellence.
- Functioning as a professional role model and resource person.
The authority to exercise these responsibilities often requires the use of independent judgement.
Minimum licensure/certification required (if applicable):Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
BLS & ACLS certified.
Department specific specialty certification required within six months of start of position.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:Baccalaureate and/or Master's degree in nursing required. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of specialty specific experience in an acute care setting.
Advanced computer skills to include data entry and retrieval, including Microsoft specialty products.
Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English language.
Ability to effectively communicate complex and comprehensive information thoroughly and succinctly.
Nurse Supervisor Multi-Environment-Pay Range $39.04-$58.56Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
