Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic (2nd shift) with expertise in packaging and liquid fill equipment for a client in Orlando, FL. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of our packaging and liquid fill machinery. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong technical knowledge, and a commitment to maintaining production efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on packaging and liquid fill equipment, including but not limited to fillers, cappers, labelers, and conveyors.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.

Preventative Maintenance:

• Develop and execute preventative maintenance plans to ensure equipment reliability and minimize production disruptions.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks, lubrication, and adjustments to prolong equipment lifespan and optimize performance.

Installation and Upgrades:

• Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new packaging and liquid fill machinery, collaborating with engineering and production teams as needed.
• Participate in equipment upgrades and modifications to improve efficiency and functionality.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance activities, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
• Complete maintenance tasks in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs performed, and parts used.
• Input data into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and reporting purposes.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to address equipment-related issues and support overall production goals.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements in equipment maintenance and suggest innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a packaging and liquid fill environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of packaging machinery, liquid fillers, conveyors, and associated mechanical components.
• Proficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment malfunctions.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices related to equipment maintenance and operation.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams for equipment repairs and maintenance.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report maintenance activities.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order management and tracking.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
