Job Summary
At Student Central, this position will be the first line of contact for Bursar, Parking, Registrar and Financial Aid inquiries.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Processes payments as received, answers questions in person, by phone, and e-mail, and answers all questions efficiently and with accuracy.
- Processes parking transactions in T2Flex, prepares visitor permits, and answers parking questions in person, by phone, and by e-mail.
- Troubleshoots accounts for accuracy, including working with Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid, and University Bursar's Office for system issues.
- Audits and adjusts Service Indicator holds monthly; audits various financial aspects of student accounts for accuracy via IUIE reports monthly or as needed.
- Under close supervision, performs routine administrative tasks related to bursar accounts, such as applying tuition and fees and processing payments.
- Audits bursar accounts and payments to ensure compliance with deadlines and applicable regulations; communicates discrepancies to supervisor and may assist with corrections.
- Fields emails and phone calls, responds to inquiries and requests, and explains policies and procedures.
- Helps students, parents, employees, sponsoring organizations, departments, and other constituents understand billing information, including deadlines, payment plans, fees, and processes.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
- 1 year of experience in a financial setting
- Experience working in Higher Education, as well as familiarity with FERPA
- Related work experience in a university bursar, registrar, or related office
- Experience working with student records database (PeopleSoft, OnBase, etc.)
