Reports To: Manager, Corporate Training & Economic Development

Amount of Travel Required: As needed to fulfill contracts (day and evening travel)

LOCATION: Green Bay, WI

STANDARD HOURS: Hours will vary based on training needs.

PAY RANGE*: $45.00 per hour.

POSITION SUMMARY

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is an innovative leading-edge college dedicated to student success. A trainer's primary purpose is to design instruction and assessment in an engaging environment to foster learner success. A trainer continually improves the overall quality in the delivery of learning to support the achievement of college outcomes and priorities utilizing evidence to support decision-making. Trainers work in alignment with the college's mission, vision, core values, and operating principles. Trainers are expected to provide service to the college community exemplified by teamwork, committee involvement, and participation in shared leadership activities. In addition, trainers commit to ongoing professional growth in both training and technical areas, as well as the development of their colleagues and teams. Trainer demand will be dictated by customer and contract need.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

NWTC is seeking an experienced subject matter expert to deliver established and customized training to meet the needs of our corporate customers. Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate learning for a cohort by creating and/or using Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) curricula while developing custom training plans.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute DEI training strategies by conducting seminars, workshops, and individual customized contract training as appropriate for our corporate customers.
  • Work closely with NWTC educators and business leadership to develop key performance measurements and monitor student success.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with faculty and other college individuals to ensure delivery of consistent, quality learning opportunities across all delivery modes are aligned to college curriculum policies.
  • Work collaboratively with NWTC instructors, staff, and employers to ensure the curriculum and learning outcomes prepare employees for success in the workplace.
  • Determine the appropriate DEI tools, techniques, methodologies, and timing of improvement activities to meet business objectives.
  • Manage classroom and shop/lab to ensure a productive and safe DEI learning environment.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, to include professional experience focused on diversity, equity, and inclusive practice in training and organizational development.

Preferred: Minimum of four years related experience in development and delivery of DEI training, marketing and relationship building with clients, and leading others.
**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

Cultural Competence: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and sensitivity to and understanding of a diverse community of college students, faculty, and staff.

Other Requirements:

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion specific certifications / memberships preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and ability to design, develop, and deliver group training activities and materials to a vast array of individual knowledge levels.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable under the District's standard insurance policy terms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge of virtual learning is an asset.
