Description:Position Purpose: Supporting our pathologists in diagnosing diseases and conditions. You will be responsible for various laboratory and clinical tasks, including specimen handling, processing, and gross description.What you will do:*Conduct gross examinations and complex dissections of tissue samples, documenting relevant characteristics through dictation using Dragon/EPIC.*Assist pathologists in preparing tissue slides for microscopic examination.*Maintain accurate records of specimen information, test results, and patient data.*Collaborate with healthcare providers and laboratory staff to ensure efficient specimen processing.*Contribute to quality control and quality assurance activities in the laboratory.*Stay updated with advancements in the field of pathology through ongoing education.
Education & Qualifications
*Experience in the field with appropriate educational background (Master's degree in Pathology or a related field preferred).*Certification as a Pathology Assistant (PA) or eligibility for certification preferred.*Strong knowledge of anatomy, histology, and pathology principles.*Proficiency in anatomic laboratory techniques, including frozen section and permanent specimen preparation.*Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.*Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.*Commitment to laboratory safety protocols and ethical standards.*Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion.
