Come join our awesome team as an PCA or CNA with The Homestead at Montrose! This is a FULL-TIME NIGHT SHIFT!

The Homestead at Montrose is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare subsidiary of the Volunteers of America parent organization.

This PCA or C.N.A position will provide their clients with routine daily nursing care in accordance with established agency nursing care procedures as directed by your supervisors. This position will require some on-call hours!

Pay Details:

  • Caregiver/PCA without QMAP $15.50 per hour - QMAP classes offered! Ask for details!
  • Caregiver/PCA WITH QMAP $16.00-$19.72 per hour, based on previous work experience
  • C.N.A. without QMAP $16.50 per hour - QMAP classes offered! Ask for details!
  • C.N.A. WITH QMAP $17.00-$20.72 per hour, based on previous work experience
  • $1.00 per hour shift differentials offered for the evenings and night shifts
Schedules offered: Thursday - Saturday 6pm - 6am (72 - 80 hours per pay period)

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be eighteen (18) years old or older at start date of employment.
  • Eighth grade education or higher, prefer high school graduate.
  • Able to follow verbal and written requests from supervisor or residents.
  • Ability to use electronic devices such as cell phone, walkie talkie, I-Pad, computers.
  • Able to work with residents of varying levels of verbal or physical limitations.
  • Ability to work with residents with memory impairment and/or aggressive behaviors.
  • Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as evenings, nights, or weekends.
  • Able to make an appropriate decision in an emergency situation.
  • Be knowledgeable of all federal, state and facility rules, policies and procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable of defined infection control procedures.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Assist residents with activities of daily living such as cues and/or hands on / weight bearing support for activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, bathing, mobility, and transferring.
    • Accurate documentation of cares given and pertinent observation.
    • Encourage residents to participate in activities, come to all meals and encourage proper food and liquids.
    • Maintain order in all areas, including trash removal and outdoor areas.
    • Assist with meals, including preparations and clean up.
    • Resident laundry and linen changes as a contracted resident option.
    • Attend and/or present an in-service meeting as required by the facility. Record documentation.
    • Greet visitors and respond to inquiries.
    • Orient and introduce new employees and residents.
    • Understand and be able to explain all safety and universal precautions in facility.
    • Answer emergency calls or telephone calls appropriately. Be able to explain procedures.
    • Recognize resident's right to choose. Promote choices to promote well-being, quality of life preservation and highest level of independence.
    • Encourage residents to participate in activities, including ambulating or other exercises.
    • Attends educational offerings and obtains at least twenty (20) hours of continuing education a year per regulation.
    • Perform other duties as requested by the Nurse Supervisor or Residence Director
