Client creates and manufactures innovative wood packaging solutions. Our builders manufacture wood pallets, boxes, and crates. We are a Wood Pallet/Box Manufacturer and a Direct Distributor of Lumber.
Job Summary: The Plant Manager will manage site operations with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The Plant Manager will be responsible for the oversight of the direction, coordination, and supervision of the day-to-day operations of production personnel, equipment, and material resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive production operations to meet or exceed corporate goals in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Identify and communicate any continuous improvement opportunities, and assist or lead continuous improvement actions.
- Drive production of customer orders to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Identify and develop internal personnel to support continued growth.
- Assist in scheduling resources, equipment, and workflow that drives the efficient use of shipping resources and achieves target on-time delivery.
- Source raw material resources and manage vendor relationships.
- Assist in costing efforts by compiling production reports, completing time studies, and providing recommendations as necessary.
- Responsible for the compliant execution of all ISPM-15 processes.
- Oversee prompt follow-up on all customer quality concerns and ensure operational changes to prevent reoccurrence.
- Ensure all safety incidences or concerns are promptly reported to the Corporate Safety Team.
- Oversee maintenance resources, including parts and outside contractors, to ensure safe and reliable operation of equipment.
- Operate with a sense of urgency and commitment to continuous improvement regarding all areas of responsibility: workforce, training, housekeeping, etc.

Education and/or Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience leading and developing teams is required.
- Candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in a similar role.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents in English, and communicate those out effectively.
- Bilingual skills are preferred, but not required.
- Professional communication is required.
Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to work in a computer system generating reports and metrics.
- Knowledge of basic Microsoft Suite required.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
