Plant Sanitation Technician

Position Summary:

The person in this role will be responsible for general sanitation on and around the production floor. The Plant Sanitation Technician will perform cleaning from the roof to the floor throughout the Processing department and in other areas of the plant when needed. Generally, the cleaning tasks include but are not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping, using industrial vacuums to clean spills, and removing debris from equipment.

Job Duties:

  • Complete assigned periodic cleaning tasks and track on periodic cleaning charts.
  • Operate a forklift or pallet jack to move bins, barrels, or equipment, needed to perform the work.
  • Operate and maintain powered scrub machines to clean up spills, and to aid in removing liquids from the floors.
  • Use necessary cleaning agents and appropriate cleaning equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize associated equipment, including but not limited to pipes, conveyors, and barrels
  • Clean all department infrastructure to include but not limited to stairwells, overhead bins lights, pipes, and air ducts.
  • Report any issues, such as sealing concerns, leaks, damage, or other; capture in detail and present to supervisor or manager.
  • Communicate to supervision in all matters pertaining to safety, equipment function, and inventory of supplies.
  • Support plant high performance culture and continuous improvement programs.
  • Comply and actively participate in all safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Comply with all QCMS program requirements including HACCP and GMPs.
  • Perform area housekeeping duties.
  • Perform all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED or Technical Trade School Certificate.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience preferred
