Job Summary:

This position will work on the Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education (see https://oese.ed.gov/files/2022/09/PR-Award-S423a220084-UT-Arlington.pdf).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be mentored and exposed to a variety of educational experiences including:

  • Data collection, evaluation, and analysis
  • Manuscript preparation
  • Grant writing
  • Engaging in and delivering professional development
Perform daily administrative tasks to help with project management such as:
  • Schedule meetings
  • Track expenses and key personnel time
  • Ensure data is collected in a timely manner
  • Manage team communications
  • Oversee the project's technology
  • Other duties, as necessary
Have other opportunities such as:
  • Instructor of record for classes in UTA's master's degree in curriculum and instruction with emphasis in mathematics or,
  • Assist in grading
  • Assist and participate in mathematics education research, including the opportunity to lead research projects in your area of interest
  • Visit partner schools in the Dallas Fort-Worth/Houston area and will need to have a reliable form of transportation and pass school background checks
Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD or PhD, ABD, or EdD in Mathematics Education, Middle Grades Teacher Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Expertise and/or interest in prosocial behavior, access/equity, middle grades mathematics, and/or providing professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree is attained from a R1 or R2 Research Institution.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and knowledgeably, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to provide and demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while working on multiple tasks.
