Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and compassionate Pre-Litigation Paralegal to support our client's plaintiff personal injury team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and management of cases before they are filed in court. The role involves handling the intake of new clients, conducting initial investigations, managing medical records, communicating with insurance companies, and ensuring the timely progression of claims. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine desire to help individuals who have been injured.
Key Responsibilities:

Case Intake & Client Communication:
- Conduct thorough client intake interviews to gather information about the accident, injuries, and insurance details.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to update them on case status and address inquiries.
- Assist in drafting demand letters to insurance companies or defendants.

Medical Records & Documentation:
- Request, obtain, and review medical records, bills, and related documentation from healthcare providers.
- Organize and summarize medical records to build the case file for negotiation or potential litigation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all case-related communications, including phone calls, emails, and correspondence.

Investigation & Evidence Collection:
- Investigate accident scenes, gather evidence, and secure witness statements to support client claims.
- Collaborate with accident reconstruction experts, medical professionals, and other third parties as needed.
- Compile and organize photographs, police reports, and other relevant evidence for case preparation.

Negotiation & Settlement Assistance:
- Assist attorneys in preparing settlement demand packages for insurance companies or opposing counsel.
- Communicate with insurance adjusters, healthcare providers, and other relevant parties regarding claim status, medical records, and bills.
- Track deadlines for medical liens and negotiations for lien reductions as needed.

Legal Research:
- Perform basic legal research related to personal injury law, statutes of limitations, and other relevant regulations.
- Keep up-to-date on changes in state and federal laws affecting personal injury claims.

File Management & Case Organization:
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case files and ensure that all documents are properly filed and organized.
- Prepare and file necessary paperwork with insurance companies, medical providers, and government agencies.
- Monitor and track case progress, ensuring all deadlines are met and clients receive timely updates.

Administrative Support:
- Assist with drafting correspondence, emails, and forms as needed.
- Prepare documents for attorney review, ensuring all necessary information is included.
- Provide support for trial preparation in the event a case moves to litigation.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
- Paralegal certificate or degree from an accredited institution (preferred).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal, with at least 1 year of experience in personal injury law (pre-litigation experience preferred).

Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law, medical terminology, and claims process.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
