RESPONSIBILITIES

• Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce a range of engineering deliverables (including more complex tasks) with limited guidance and direction from more senior technical professionals.
• May deliver small-scale projects with responsibility for cost, schedule, resource allocation and risks.
• Develops process flow diagrams to define energy and material balance(s). Calculates loads for clean utilities, line sizing, and distribution.
• Establishes a process design basis, developing process options, alternative solutions, and identifies risks and benefits
• Prepares reports on their assignments and makes recommendations on the solution of technical problems within the scope of assignment.
• Designs Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• Specify and select process equipment (chromatography columns, pressure vessels, bioreactors, filtration skids) to meet project and client's criteria.
• Maintains effective communication with project team members
• Builds external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal/external service providers or contractors.
• Assists more experienced Process Engineers with specific aspects of more complex tasks.
• Work is reviewed for adequacy and accuracy by a Senior Engineer
• Review of submittals and shop drawings

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS or MS in Chemical/Mechanical/Bioengineering from an accredited university.
• 4 to 8 years of experience within Life Science Industry preferred.
• Experience in process design and improvement including process trouble shooting and debottlenecking related to improving efficiency, capability, and safety.
• Experience in Life Science or other regulated industry including knowledge of cGMPs AutoCAD and Process Modeling experience a plus
• Acceptance of a hybrid working environment (employees come into our Morrisville office 3 days a week, minimum).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, decision making capabilities, problem resolution skills, and a sense of initiative.
• PE or working towards PE.
