Job Purpose
Responsible for the overall manufacturing of products according to specifications, to meet the business objectives at the site. Assists in guiding fellow site management team members in developing and ensure implementation of policies, yearly improvement plans, and best practices, contributing to the development of policy in line with corporate guidelines, business plans, to ensure the realization of strategic objectives of the site.
Along with other Site Steering Committee Members, act as change agent for the HSE and continuous improvement culture and role model for ensuring compliance with all policy and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• As a member of the site management team, contribute to the formulation of site objectives from a production perspective and ensure site capabilities, constraints and HSE considerations are incorporated into the site plan.
• Lead an operational excellence agenda by coaching & teaching functional excellence in all areas while achieving sustainable improvement in the safety, reliability, productivity, quality and eco-efficiency of the production or plant operations.
• Implement ALPS, CoE, and Quality processes for site consistent with the agreed ISC functional excellence agenda.
• Develop individual team members and build a team which collectively is capable of and fully involved in achieving the task. Also establish and enforce minimum personal performance level within Production.
• Manage human resources, stimulate talent management and identify and select talents with growth potential.
• Participates in the definition & execution of investments for production related activities and equipment.
• Works with RD&I to enable New Product Introductions.
• Leads and participates in Tier 2, 3 and 4 meetings. Ensures day-to-day problems are solved and contained at the right level.
• Inspires commitment to AkzoNobel's purpose, vision, strategy, core principles, values and leadership behaviors.
• Ensures that job profiles are in place, sets objectives for team members, reviews development and provides clear, open and constructive feedback on performance combined with the appropriate actions.
• Manages and plans relevant budgets and proactively manages costs.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or other related field from four-year college or university
• 6+ years of paint manufacturing or liquid batch manufacturing experience
• 5+ years of previous supervisory/management experience
• Effective leadership, interpersonal skills, performance management, and people development skills required
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with clear prioritization and organizational skills
• Effective communicator with all levels of the organization (employees, managers, customers)
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP systems, etc.)
Rewards & Benefits
Base salary range for this role is: $110,000 to $120,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
