Program Coordinator - CDD (Remote eligible w/in Iowa)

The Center for Disabilities and Development is seeking a Program Coordinator for the newly designated Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) Technical Assistance and Call Center. This position will work with a training and technical assistance team to facilitate technical assistance, coordinate training initiatives, assist with writing and submitting technical documents, data collection and reporting, and other collaborative projects to achieve the Center's goals. Training and technical assistance will be specialized to support people who work directly with aging adults and individuals, of any age, with a disability, their family and caregivers, case managers, and other professionals. The successful candidate may also work on other projects to achieve the Iowa University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities' mission.

This is a specified term position with a current end date of 1/15/2026 with strong likelihood of renewed funding.

This position is eligible for remote work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the ADRC Technical Assistance and Call Center's training and technical assistance initiatives under the direction of the Program Manager.
  • Coordinate meetings including preparing agendas and meeting materials, scheduling meetings, arranging meeting locations, and recording and disseminating meeting minutes.
  • Conduct research and policy analysis to support project objectives.
  • Work in close coordination with Iowa Compass Community Resource Specialists and Database Curators, including engaging in cross-training effort to ensure collaboration and cohesion among job functions within the ADRC TA and Call Center team.
  • Help create and maintain project workplans.
  • Participate in program planning and development on projects with the Program Manager and other program staff.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training and technical assistance for ADRC member organizations, including on-demand, live virtual, and in-person formats.
  • Provide technical assistance to partner entities on data collection, reporting, and program deliverables.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support data-informed engagement and decision-making. \
  • Provide public education and communications on ADRC Technical Assistance and Call Center initiatives.
  • Manage communication tools, including websites, newsletters, and social media, to effectively disseminate information.
  • Prepare written reports, including comprehensive reports for the partner agencies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Disseminate data and reports to internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development of the ADRC Technical Assistance and Call Center's evaluation and reporting functions under the Program Manager's direction.
  • Assist with data collection, management, and analysis processes.
  • Coordinate program evaluation and quality improvement processes.
  • Consult with project staff and HHS partners on process and outcome measures, evaluation, and effective communication of findings.
  • May assist Program Manager with hiring process, including interviews and candidate selection.
  • May assist with orientation of new hires.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field (social services, education, health field, psychology, public health or related human services field), or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including experience or capacity to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and lead work teams.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of program coordination and/or management experience.
  • Excellent written communication skills and experience writing technical documents.
  • Experience that demonstrates knowledge of service systems for individuals with disabilities and aging adults, including knowledge that demonstrates current best practice of assisting people to self-determine what supports and services they need.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel, work a flexible schedule when required
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working for a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa and State of Iowa policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Basic understanding of policies and services for people with disabilities and aging adults.
