Albertina Kerr empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health challenges and other social barriers to lead self-determined lives and reach their full potential.

As the Community Services Program Manager, you will develop, coordinate, manage, and carry out all aspects of the Path 2 Community program at the Beaverton site. You will work with your team to coordinate program activities and skills training. The Program Manager will coordinate with outside vendors to ensure the program has all the supplies needed.

Essential Duties

  • Oversee the design, schedule, and implementation of learning activities and social/recreational activities that respond to client's interests and their individual service plans.
  • Train and develop your team to ensure they understand all aspects of their role and responsibilities.
  • Approve and monitor each participant's support and activities with Albertina Kerr staff.
  • Build rapport and have good communication skills with home providers, and other people in the participants support team.
  • Supervise and support the program staff and volunteers including scheduling, attendance, goals and objectives, performance evaluations, and coordination of training and hiring, as necessary.
  • Work with the Director to develop new program procedures and activities to increase participation for all individuals to reach their goals, streamline methods of data gathering, seek new ways of utilizing resources, and improve the sustainability and growth of the program.
  • Write concise, clear, and accurate reports as needed and maintain records in compliance with OAR (Oregon Resource Association) regulations.
  • Assist staff with de-escalation of behavior issues for their assigned participants including, but not limited to, client anger management, conflict resolution, coping with anxiety and specific behaviors addressed in the participant's Individual Support Plan (ISP) or formal behavior protocol.
  • Help to create a social bond between the program participants and non-disabled persons in the community.
  • Administer medications and attend to individual medical needs of program participants when needed, including first aid as appropriate.
  • Assist with personal hygiene needs, eating, mobility, toileting, and client transfer from wheelchairs when using a restroom or other times when transfer is necessary.
  • Assist and support staff in daily activities including lunchtime protocols.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a related field or 3 years of related experience in a similar program.
  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership position.
  • Ability to effectively make decisions in crisis situations.
  • Ability to confidently de-escalate internal and external environments.
  • Spanish speaking or ASL a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication style to meet the diverse needs of others.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Must be willing to be exposed to varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Must be willing to drive and transport participants in a 15-passenger van.
  • Ability to meet all background check, reference, drug screening, and agency driving requirements.
